Everest – A Poem

Stumbled across this poem, written by fellow WordPress blogger Brad Osborne, that capture a sentiment similar to my novel, “Suicide by Everest”. If you’re interested in reading more of Brad’s work you can do so at https://commonsensiblyspeaking.wordpress.com.

EVEREST

Oh, the wind-swept, lofty summit

That calls men to their death

Prayers offered in frozen breath

~~~
What magic be upon your peak
What treasures there, ripe and rife
That want to know may cost a life
~~~

Standing at the top of the world

Rare ground that few have trod

To look upon the face of God

~~~
For each there is something
Some great promise in the sky
And, for each, their reason why
~~~
